Being Gulf Construction’s first operating unit, over the years, the Civil & Environment Unit has built several landmark projects including palaces, commercial establishments, housing complexes, educational institutions, hospitals, monuments, religious structures, stadium, showrooms, telephone exchanges and residences. Being a Unit focused on safety and quality with ability to develop world class infrastructure, the Unit has taken up large civil works for industrial facilities such as iron ore palletization plant, reservoirs, fertilizer plant, amongst others. It has also constructed several hotels on turnkey basis across Kuwait.
Some of the medical facility projects undertaken by the unit in the earlier stages were the Al Jahra, Hawalli, Sabah Al Salem, Al Farwaniyah General Hospitals. While the Hawally and Al-Ahmadi hospital projects were limited in scope, the Al Jahara Hospital allowed the unit to complete Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & HVAC paved the way for several large projects viz. Hawally Extended Health Centre, National Heart Centre, Accident, Emergency & Burns unit, and Hawally Cardiac Centre followed by operation and maintenance services for these facilities.
The Unit also has its core strengths in the Environment sector having completed Kuwait’s first of its kind Membrane Bioreactor based Al Mangaf STP, the region’s largest vacuum sewer network at Kuwait City, several STPs across Kuwait, sewage collection & conveyance networks, Reverse Osmosis plants and Operation & Maintenance services for such installations.
The Unit is involved in following sectors within overall Oman Complex Building such as Hotels, Hospitals and Airport Terminal Buildings Environmental Projects – STP and Sewage Networks O&M Projects – Sewage Networks, Building Facilities (Hospital / Educational facilities)
